Vice President, Global Sales and Strategy - IBM Financing


Al was named Vice President, Global sales and strategy reporting to the IBM Treasurer effective January 1, 2024 after leading the transformation of IBM Financing’s global go-to market strategy and coverage model. He leads IBM’s captive financing’s Global sales, strategy, and support teams across the Americas, EMEA, Japan and Asia Pacific and is charged with achieving annual financing originations, income, and expense budgets for this segment of the IBM business. As of December 31, 2023, IBM Financing had 14.4B of financial assets.


Previous leadership experience and roles include Vice President, General Manager, IBM Financing Americas from October 1, 2021, through December 31, 2023, Vice President, General Manager of IBM Financing Japan, President of IBM Japan Credit Corporation and member of IBM Japan’s senior executive leadership team from July 1, 2019 through September 31, 2021, and Vice President Global Capital Markets from July 2016 through June 2019. He served in additional executive and leadership roles across the IBM Financing business since joining the company in 1994.


Prior to joining IBM in 1994, Al spent 6 years in the commercial banking industry working for National Bank of Detroit (JP Morgan Chase) in Chicago serving in a number of roles including audit, credit and sales.


Al holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance with a concentration in accounting from Michigan State University. He is married with one son and daughter and currently resides in Connecticut.
